Copper Clad Buddha

Not sure if made in Asia or Western. I was thinking a bookend maybe?

    A decorator's piece, could have been made anywhere. His lap could have held a tea light or something like that. Are you sure it is metal?

    Yes, copper or copper alloy but not solid I think.

    That one is much better quality, yours is probably a copy of that one. Check the surface, the hands, the sleeves. The entire thing really.
    Whoever made your copy, did some highly unusual colouring to the curls around his face.

    Indeed, the linked example seems to be better quality and paint. I’d think it depends on how good the plaster mold quality was.
    I am not sure if the Pompeian bookends were reproduced? If so, I’d think they would have been done by different technique rather then the more difficult copper clad method. And faking the wick depression on the base too? I don’t know....
