For those of you who say the auction lot I posted last week about the Camphor glass!. This brooch was picked out as being of interest in the lot but it was too far away to see any detail.
    Well here it is!.
The only disappointment is that I can’t find a hallmark on it anywhere (which maybe why it was in a lot of costume jewellery) but it acid tests as silver.
The moonstones are varied in size and a beautiful colour.
    What do you think?
    Thanks for looking :)

Fab. 1910s into early 20s with that early safety clasp. Moonstones and silver.

You were right that it could be nice! Think @Marie Forjan picked it out from a distance too!

Do moonstones mind getting wet? I like using the silver foam but you have to wash it off afterwards.
There are two tiny marks that could be something or nothing but it needs a good clean.

They're more tolerant than opal or pearls which containg water. I'd use the foam on a cotton bud maybe. Or just get in there with Sunshine cloth and finger nail. I'd probably do that, with a gentle go with a soft toothbrush and a smidge of Fairy first.

Moonstones are a feldspar if memory serves. Getting wet shouldn't hurt them, just stay away with the abrasives.

And oh'm'gosh I'd have been all over that too!

It was a lucky auction lot that for some reason no one else bid for.

I've had that happen once or twice. Fun when it does, if not for the seller!

It was in a proper auction house where I normally find everything I like is very popular. Everything around it sold for more than estimate, this went for 20 under. No idea why. My lucky day
