masai authentic implement?

    This looks like masai to me. Just not sure if it is an authentic implement (ladle?), or if someone stuck a stick in an old leather gourd stopper to make it more saleble maybe. Anyone any idea which of the two and if the lather what it would have been used for?

    the cap of a milk gourd....that someone stuck a stick into....????

    Great that you found an example of a ladle like that, Komoko! It doesn't mention what they used this ladle for, does it?
    Have to agree that the placements of the beads on mainly the bottom might make the second option quite likely though. 4 cms diameter might be a bit small for a milk gourd stopper (i do have a gourd like that, with cap diameter of 8 cm), but maybe ca of tobacco container like this?

    But still, might be a ladle after all :)
