I am a college professor but am brand new to the world of art and antiques. I have a friend who has a long history and I am hoping to be of some help when they need some information.

I am fascinated by the history of pieces, especially the people behind them.

If your name is Elmer the Phd (pronounced phud) I don't want to know about it.

I was a Communications major, many centuries ago.

    Welcome!
Many moons ago, I got my B.A. in telecommunications. It was a fun major but I ended up going back to school for another degree in a medical field.

I admit it can be disheartening to see the equipment you used at the start of your broadcasting career now displayed in museums in their "Broadcast Technology" exhibits. LOL

I had a great-uncle Elmer. Yours didn't have the last name of Fries, did he? I didn't think there were that many Elmers around, but apparently there were.

Cameramen used to be the biggest guys in the building; now the equipment they carried can sometimes be replaced by a cell phone.
