Share Some Recent Sale Prices That Surprised You

    I was at an auction a few weeks ago and a pair of 4 stack Globe-Wernicke bookcases sold for $1500 each. Excellent condition but nothing special about them. In my opinion that is about double retail price for them.

    Post your stories of when you were (recently) surprised on how much $$$ or little $$$ something realized!

    It does seem a little rich. I would love to get $1500 total for the two sets I have.

    On the low side a primitive two piece hutch sold for $60 at an auction I attended yesterday. I thought that was kind of low but the market seems to be really soft on curios/hutches.
