AMAZING HANDMADE CARPET

The other day I met an interesting person who makes carpets.
Handmade carpets as artistic weaving has existed in Ukraine for centuries. In old times Ukraine was famous for its folk weaving. A lot of symbols were used while weaving carpets.
So, I met this bright personality, a talented artist, Stepan Hanzha. In his youth he was a dancer, now his hidden talent of making carpets has been revealed. Each his carpet is unique, the colors are fantastic.
The carpet I am showing below is one of his masterpieces. The subject is Cossacks. (Cossacks were Ukrainian warriors who defended their land in the 17th century).
It is a professional photo, actually it is a folded card made by the Union of Folk Artists for one of his exhibitions). This artwork was mentioned in most publications as the sample of Ukrainian carpet weaving of the XXI century (it was made in 2000). It takes the artist 8-12 months to create such a carpet.
