I am new to the wedgwood jasperware.
And I started to buy some book to study the history of jasperware.
But I always see this set, its very beautiful, but in the book I have bought, have never mentioned it.
Which year was this set of cup and saucer produced? Any story of this set can tell me?
And any book to introduced the more recent product of wedgwood?
    Thank you very much.

Found this on the internet: In the 1940s, a simplified two-digit date code was introduced (such as “52” standing for “1952”). The absence of any date codes should give you cause for concern.

Does your's have a two digit number on the bottom?

We might be able to help ID the designs if we could see them well. I'm assuming there is a different scene on the other side. I can't see in the side shown whether the women are bending over an altar or a cradle or...

I found this scene in my Jasper Ware collectors' book. As I feared would be the case, the book titles it simply 'Sacrifice Figures'. Many different decorations are given this vague title.

It's awkward to use, but you could explore:

    Thanks Ownedbybear and Bronwen.
Here's are the two side of the scene.
Yes, I search so many online and just can find "neo-classical figures."
And I find at the book"Wedgwood jasper ware A shape book and collectors guide to find sometime similar, but also cannot ID it.

And I tried the wedgwoodmuseum but its a huge database there.
Is it in the SEARCH THE ARCHIVE COLLECTIONS ONLINE?

The second side is also a scene of what they would simply call 'sacrifice figures'. I'm sorry that's such a vague answer. Wedgwood modelers created many designs that were 'after the antique', based loosely on classical art & not representative of any particular mythological figure or story, in addition to ones like the scene of the Muses watering Pegasus at the Hippocrene.

Its so surprise for me that I cannot trace back to all the pattern that are on the famous piece. If you don't tell me, I think I will still use so many time to search for it. So, thank you very much.
