older looking metal & glass thing

    It could possibly be an epergne but it looks rather precarious for that. Perhaps the 131 refers to a stand style, to be married to a variety of art glass tops. In the late 19th century, some American silver and plate companies would partner with glass manufacturers to produce these marriages. No idea of the company but probably not high-end.

    Whatever!!! It's Beautiful, and I too, would put a small battery/flickering candle in it....no danger of flames that way!!!!!!

    Look for marks! Send pics of glass bottom, and metal base fitting.

    Whats with the cord? Was it once a lamp? Could be re -puposed art? At second glance that ribbed strand, might not be a cord, need to set the rum down. Lol
