    This has some age because the crest doesn't have the Shahada, like the present day one. But not much age, by the look of it. An older person in Afghanistan will know when this particular version of the Afghani crest was used.
    It looks like it was worn on a sash, because the pin is blunt.

    It's said on the top .. high sirdar (high commander)
    Then a qurans sentence surrounding the palace
