My best guess is these vases are Murano but I am not sure. Never seen a shape quite like this. Any ideas? TIA

Doesn't look like any Murano I've ever seen but I certainly haven't seen everything- I do like them though - very cool form. The color of the glass makes me think perhaps Scandinavian - but I really have no idea. How big are they?

Very distinctive and intriguing! Agree, add the approx height measurements.

Hopefully someone will recognize these, wait for others to respond.

Have you checked the bases thoroughly for marks?

Agreed! Check in all angles of the base, use good light.

Very similar find, Johnny. Well done! And if you open the Steuben auction, you will see that 2 had a chip -- still sold so well like that. Wow!

Yes, check like mad for a signature on the base, DeAnne.

And not to go on and on about markings, but are you generally good at seeing glass markings? I'm not familiar with the Steuben signature, but Baccarat and Tiffany on glass can sometimes be very subtle and hard to spot. I get pieces from my local thrift (that supposedly has an antique/collecitlbes expert that checks first) because at first glance there is nothing there.

Sounds like you checked pretty well though.

    Well, maybe inspired by Steuben!

Yes those markings can play hide an seek with you. I had a Hawkes cut glass bowl I knew was Hawkes but I couldn't find a mark on it anywhere until about 3 years latter when I was giving it a bath an the sunlight coming through the window hit it just right.

I am pretty sure aaroncab is spot on I was looking around and found one of their designers by the name of Bohuslav Beranekdid made vases with square bases. So after 3 hours and a headache from looking I emailed the company and asked if there is any reference to their old catalogs anywhere on the internet, hopefully they will get back to me.
