You will be fine ,Im sure of it . :) Its very routine now,I was in and out in less than 2 hours. But make sure you have someone at home, you wont really be able to move for a couple of weeks, and it was about a week before I could bathe, wich was the worst part for me as I bathe twice a day ! Good thoughts going your way.

Thanks guys. I still have to go see the surgeon and ask questions like "do I have two incisions",etc.? Caring for my Mom is going to be rough.

    Hi Shiloh,
My prayers are with you. I had a double hernia repair a few years ago. I was home from the hospital the next day. Forgot the next morning the car had to moved for street cleaning. 6AM, I am bent over in half and trying to walk to the car, then trying to drive the damn thing and park it. It was the longest hour that I have ever had. Three days later I was feeeling and moving better. Was told not to bend or lift for 4 weeks. Yeah that is going to work. Taking care of your Mom, you are going to need some help. Life is a damn bitch. DO NOT BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR HELP.

Thanks everyone - I'm glad I followed that weird gut feeling that demanded I go out to the TS. I'm really glad it hasn't come today when it is bone chilling cold... but I still have to take the doggie out. She is on a heated bed and has no interest in moving.

Sending positive thoughts your way, shiloh.

Shiloh, thinking of you and trusting that the surgeon will put your mind at ease when the answers to all of your questions are supplied.

Hope your surgery goes well Shiloh!
I bought these pieces today, look very well made. I love the hangers inside the wardrobe. The bed is 8 1/2" long, the wardrobe is 11 14" in height and is missing a piece of the design at the top.

Picked up this brass folding/expanding book rack at the thrift for $3.75

This Aladdin Alacite lamp was $4.00 at the thrift.

Best find was this early Mata Ortiz bowl by Emeterio Ortiz. He was one of the original Mata Ortiz potters and his signed works are pretty rare. Bought this from the dealer right across the aisle from me in the mall. Had to pay a bit more than thrift store price but still a very good buy considering potential worth.

Since I'm not looking for anything, the odds are long of finding anything, but there is a Thrift right beside the grocery store I visit weekly. I got this a couple weeks before Christmas. Queen Alexandra from what would have been a set with Edward VII. (The King has gone walk-about.)

12 1/2" high. Made by T.H. Sandland in 1901. At first, I thought it was a bottle, and I still think it might have been adapted from one. I expected the head to be a stopper, but it's integrally attached.

Sandland was really cranking out figurines for the coronation. I've found pairs online in 2 different configurations, both dated December 10/01. This is dated December 20, but I haven't found it online.

(I like that Alacite lamp. Is it an unusual one? Looks quite moderne for them.)
