From my vintage/antique photography collection. Here are two original colour transparencies from a photo-shoot in 1960, of actress Tuesday Weld. These have been in my collection for about three years, I have yet to make photo proofs from them. ❤️Maven

Do you know what they were from or used for?

Hi James @Roaring20s I bought these at the time from a huge private collection in Los Angeles, this particular collection had a massive amount of historical Hollywood items. These would have been used for some sort of publicity portfolio of her. ❤️Maven

So, you have something yet to be discovered. It would be great to find that one of these, or one from the shoot, were used in print.

    Very nice images.

    James.

PS: In your other recent post I liked the Mary Pickford photo. She's an important pioneer in the film industry.

@Roaring20s Yes, Mary Pickford most certainly was. I currently own 5 first generation originals of Mary, three of them “personally owned by her”. I appreciate her for being not only the world’s first celebrity superstar, but as a pioneering woman in acting, and as a businesswoman in Hollywood, at a time when women weren’t necessitated to have that kind of power, one of the co-founders of United Artists Studio. ❤️Maven

@Roaring20s Here is one of the originals I own that came from Mary Pickford’s personal collection. It is an original proof of her by John Miehle taken in 1930, that is the original negative in the folder beside it. ❤️Maven

@Vintage Maven Perhaps they were used/printed in magazines of the period? They are very visually pleasing and I can see why you collect them.

They are also of course an important part of social history and an accurate record of our past. Many of the photographers also deserve to be recognised too, for capturing some incredible moments for future generations to admire.

Sorry I'm late to add a reply, but I wanted to mention that Tuesday Weld had blonde hair when she began her Dobie Gillis appearances on TV in 1959 and remained blonde onward. So I'm guessing that the photoshoot may actually predate that work.
