Another piece my parents left me. I know my mom had it reupholstered in the 60's when I was a kid as the original upholstery was ripped and I think it was tacked on with those brass tacks and if I remember correctly actually was stuffed with straw originally. I know nothing about it so any info will be greatly appreciated. Because it was reupholstered there are no tags or markings underneath.
Now to find a place in my house for it as it needs to stay in the family.

What a very sweet piece ... it could find a space in my home very easily.

    Very nice.
    1880s - early 1900s Victorian loveseat.

    Back was probably tufted originally.
What you remember as straw may have been horsehair.

    Wait for @verybrad to confirm.

1880-90 is spot-on. Eastlake style in walnut.

Yep, agree with others, Eastlake, late victorian, mom did a good job on covering, I like the look, it modernizes the piece and gives it a fresh appearance. Eastlake was a rebellion against rococo, offering clean straight lines so cover fits that style very well.

Fantastic , and unfortunately it has to remain in my parents house as we (I) can't find a place for it - I may be interested in letting it go to someone that would actually care for it - personal possession YES, Buy it to sell NO! I know the difference so don't (well you know) - message me if you are really interested - and will give it a great home!!
