    Hi
Another one of my grandmother’s possessions- a sapphire ring. It does have a hallmark, but I’m really struggling to read it. Any thoughts on age/location of manufacture please? It definitely looks like a T on the end with a bit of a downward extension to the left side of the T? The other three marks - the first is a thin vertical line, the second looks like an oval with a Z or 2 shaped mark? The third I can’t make anything out. Any help would be gratefully received.

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

I tried to enhance that mark....SO tiny....first image is with some "noise" removed, and below that is with a slight enlargement....not much changed with the 'mark' on the very left.....second mark in looks like there might be an even tinier 'G' in the middle.....but am leaving for others to try to decipher!!! UNLESS you can get a REALLY sharp image to begin with!!! Pretty ring though!!!!!

It is beautiful. Could it possibly say 1/10 ct? I am not sure.

18 ct is way more likely. With that spelling, it's British or at a pinch, one of our colonies. We really didn't use 10.

Well, it looks like it could be 18ct to me, but 10ct is not unthinkable, especially if it's not British. Bear made a good point above^^.

It looks to me like the blue sapphire is glass, which is totally possible for that age of ring with a white gold band. I cannot see the diamonds well enough, but the blue def looks glass to me. I have a beautiful blue "sapphire" depression era ring, the setting is platinum with gold details, and the "stone" is glass. It belonged to my great grandmother.

Perhaps checking the stone with a jeweler is in order. ;)

I agree, since you have so many unmarked pieces, you should be making a visit to a jeweler anyway :)
