    Hello

Does anyone know a painter, artist of the 19th - 20th century with the name

    J. Faux ?

I think it is an french / Belgium painter !.

Is the name J. Faux also spelled or spoken differently?

    Looking forward to help.

    Thank you

Welcome buckle1. More precisely, faux means 'false' in French, as in faux pearls or faux ivory, a euphemism for fake. In what context did you encounter J. Faux? Hope it wasn't Je Suis Faux (I am fake).

    Hello
it stands on a paint box of 19...
There is this main name in America and also in France (Faux).
It can be a hidden name of an artist with J. who calls himself Faux so that he will not be recognized !! ??

Is it printed, handwritten or handpainted?
Maybe the name of the brand of the paint?

I don't think it is an alias of a famous painter. It could have belonged to an amateur painter who had enough money to be able to afford a customized brass plate. A very nice touch to a paint box.

Interesting, thanks for letting us know. That could explain Faux, a joke maybe?
