Antique bodice caraco 18th century?

    Any opinions on this bodice? Found it online, they are calling in early 1900s French caraco or jacket. It looks 18th century to me, all hand sewn. What do you think? Thanks :)

    The smocking and slight puffing of the top half of the sleeves, narrowing around the lower arm, looks ca 1840s to me. Could even be later if it is a rural garment (regional costume).
    A caraco hangs over the hips and is fitted around the waist. It is often open at the front to reveal a stomacher or bodice.

    If that's a really bright purple/maroon, it's at least mid nineteenth at the earliest. Aniline dyes and all that.
