Hi.. can anyone shed any light on hallmark which looks to me to be a rams head?.. is this french? the earrings also are stamped A 891K ... i believe this is the gold percentage content?
Many thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Welcome suzanne. Could we see the entire piece please? And the 'A 891K' mark on the earrings?
Yes, it is a French guarantee mark for gold (Paris).

My guess would be 1970s-90s. They are really nice, stylish.
The mark looks like a maker's mark. Unfortunately it is not in the marks references I have, which are mostly old marks.
Maybe our French member @kyratango has an idea.:)

As a left facing ram's head, this French hallmark was used from August 16, 1819 to May 9, 1838. Finding this mark indicates the item has tested with limited warranty by touchstone to be a minimum of 18kt or 750/1000 parts gold. Origin of the mark is Paris, France.

I'd check the French colonies including Egypt for the second mark.

Thank you to all who replied.. gratefully appreciated... my concern with the dated french hallmark its that the earrings are lever back.. which i believe was not introduced until the early 1900's or so google leads me to believe..(googling all day and this stuff is a mind field). would it be possible they have been modified ? i agree they are way later styling... completely confused. xxxxxx

    I'd check Czecho-Slovakia that had a ramhead post-WWI.

I must say, I was wondering if they reintroduced the ram's head. Not only are the leverbacks later, as you rightly remarked, the style of the earrings is much later.

Czecho-Slovakia has different bird heads for gold.
Until 192-something they had a ram's head with smaller horns for .750 silver fineness.

Invented in the 1880s if I remember correctly.

Sorry, I meant the earring style itself, not the latch back.
