I agree with komokwa....let her buy you out of the house, maybe take a little less to get the jewelry. Take the diamond and the pearls.

 

The realtor's estimate and the tax evaluation are only $6,000 apart on my uncle's house. The accountant wanted to use the lower figure, I made him use the higher figure. I will probably have to have a certified appraiser come in for a fee and do it. I would really love to drive the auditor out for a tour.

It's not the first time this week I've gotten my wires crossed with someone. Tangled in a geordian knot is more the usual state of affairs, come to it....

I did ask the accountant what would happen if the house sold for more/less. He said on our income tax, it would then be a capital gain/loss.

 

there's a lot of work to be done here and even then it wouldn't come up to the homes in the $700,00 range in this area.
While my current estimate may be on the low side.......it ain't that low...
