I am curious if anyone recognize this style or brand. Been in family since 1960s but with no visable markings, I'm unable to do any research. Any help would be great. Thanks.

To confirm the age it's always a good idea to show the underneath, the webbing, the casters etc. what is it stuffed with, ie horsehair etc. it may be earlier than you think and been recovered with a more modern fabric.

Here is the picture of bottom. It is believed to have been reupholstered once before ownership from great uncle long ago.

If everyone here believe it's of great value and rarity, I would attempt tp restore it to its former glory. If not, then I won't feel bad doing a simple restoration to my taste.

The style is 1950s, but the bottom and casters look 1970s.

Restore to your taste. No great value as an original piece.

It falls in the category of old stuff I call "mess with me"s. No huge value, and it would look great recovered in something that's less of a mess. The shape is great. You could even do hot pink faux fur and stick it in a bedroom.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I think I will reupholster it with some leftover beige leather from a recent project (think I have enough). I will share, if people are interested, in seeing a before and after.

Leather would be beautiful. I'd redo the padding too, if you're doing that sort of work. Have you ever seen a UK show called Money for Nothing? They go around sourcing the raw materials and other bits from rubbish tips, what I'd probably call the landfill, and remake them. I've seen chairs like this redone in all sorts of ways. Couldn't stand most of them, but leather... before and after pictures please!
