Featured Footed Glass Nut Bowl or Salt Cellar? - Maker?

The resale shop I go to has glass and crystal pieces piled everywhere. If I knew anything about the subject, I would be in heaven. The shop manager was putting new things out today and encouraged me to buy this small footed bowl. I don't have any idea what its purpose is but it looked interesting. It is small at 2 3/4 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. Any comments appreciated.

Okay. You're right. It looks like the reproduction. Oh well. Maybe next time.

 

Would you know if this double-salt is an American piece??? I've had it for many years, but I don't know the maker. It's heavy for its size (3 1/2" high x 5 1/2" wide) and the tops of each salt is wheel polished. The finial/handle depicts a classically-dressed maiden and it retains some original gilding. It "could be?" a French piece by Meisenthal circa 1907 but is only my guess?

 

Can check in a couple of salt books later to see if shown, but most likely European, French a very good possibility...

Boy. That's a wonderful piece. I love the figure overlooking the salt cellars. Hopefully, someone can help you figure out the source.

European, possibly Victorian would be my guess as well. No help from the EAPG sites. Did find a couple at WP but no helpful hints:

WOW! It's incredible that you found one on Worthpoint! I've scoured many old catalogues over some time trying to find the maker, but will take a look at the link you provided.

Gawd, you have great links. Thank you so much for sharing them. I am trying to train my eye, and these are so helpful.

 

Am now leaning towards Baccarat and/.or S. Reich & Co. They both appear to have produced double-salts with figural handles, however maybe the piece will remain a mystery? Sometimes it is the glass itself (rather than the pattern) that can determine a maker, as each factory has its own individual recipe, but as I don't have any other salts, I cannot make any comparison

 

Sorry, looked through the two main open salt reference books - lots of European doubles, the majority French, but didn't find this one...
