Looking for any information on this NCR snack bowl. I do know that the logo points to the Centennial Celebration and that is has a Pfaltzgraff stamp on it. Other than that I have not been able to find out anything about it. Was it a piece that was sold during the celebration? Something given to employees? I also have one of the pins that the employees received during the celebration.

A company not known for its graphic design obviously. Even bought wholesale and in bulk, it wouldn't have been inexpensive. Coming from the business world, I would think it was a promotional item given to key clients. Looks a bit late for the Bicentennial. From cursory internet research, seems NCR changed its logo in the 1980s when it joined AT&T and celebrated its centenary. Could date to then.

    Thank you for the replies!

I know it is National Cash Register and am positive(97% sure) it was part of the Centennial era (1984). I have a pin that was given to all the employees during that and the logo it the same, the 100 below the NCR seems to indicate that also. I started with them in 91 so I wasn't around during the celebration. I like the thought of maybe a promotional item or maybe an executive gift is my thought also. I have talked with some people that worked back during the century celebration and they can't recall what it would have been either.

One of the things that bothers me about this dish is that it is undated and makes no reference to being a commemorative item. Is there any additional information on the pin? A photo of the back of the dish showing the Pfaltzgraff stamp might or might not help.

To me there's something hilarious about a promotional item from what in its heyday was a high tech company has to be labelled SNACK DISH. Snacking for Dummies?

That makes perfectly good sense. National Cash Register's 100th anniversary, new owner, new logo. But reason for "Snack Dish" lost. Sure would have made sense at the time as probably themed as part of business-to-business promotional campaign of some sort. Likely something to do with their new computer products.

Somehow I had lost the number "100" in the design of the snack dish. It is clearer in the pin. Definitely centennial.

Yeah, I didn’t notice that also. A fellow coworker that was around in 84 recognized the logo portion pretty quickly. But he had never seen a snack bowl with it.
