Howdy picked this up today because it looked like it had a bit of age to it. It's not silver not sure on stone and the pin reminds me of the older types but I'm sure someone will know around 60mm wide.chris 15222231406317.jpg 15222231673130.jpg 15222231672909.jpg 15222231406758.jpg ok

To me it looks like 1960s time period.
Doesn't look like a pin. The point isn't sharp. Looks more like a hair barret.

Someone will have something sensible to say. What catches my eye is how blunt the tip of the pin stem is. (See cluttered has just made the same observation.) There may be a clue as to age in the way it has a spring instead of a conventional hinge, & the spring & pin stem are continuous. Inclined to think this is something more like a shawl pin, meant to hold gathered fabric rather than to go through it.

Cluttered suggests a barrette. Maybe, but think the other structural elements on the back would make it unsuitable for this purpose.

Shawl pins have been having a revival & are popular crafts items, such as this one & this one on etsy. Not saying yours is new, just showing similarity of form.

I love snoozing, like a cat, in the middle of the afternoon, but alas, stuff to do, avoiding it playing around here. Who says social media are not addictive?
