It looks like some form of bleed key, but since I have not seen one like this before I thought I’d call on your thoughts

Does it wind/screw in anti-clockwise? If so, it could be a clock-winding key?

Hmmm, reminds me of a swivel mirror bolt.

I would say it is used to control the flow of liquid through a valve. Screw it one way and it lets liquid out; screw it the other way and closes down the flow. Same principle as a central heating radiator thermostatic valve.

Thumbscrew to hold a sawblade in place maybe. Like a jigsaw or bandsaw maybe.

It's definitely some sort of adjusting screw. From what I have no idea.

Possibly for holding something in a lab device ala a "Christmas tree stand " configuration.......

Locksmith hubby thinks it's also a "bleed" key to open and allow gas or air to release and then turn the other way to close it again. I tried looking for Twigg as a manufacturer, but didn't find anything.

I looked at them but it says they're only 40 years old. This key is older than that.
