The signiature is AL. Smith. The painting looks as no soul?? But it does seem hand painted.
Is Al Smith (American, 1902-1986) a possible artist for this painting?

Just grab it from a small antique store for 30 bucks. Just hope it's not a factory painting.

Oops. Komo said it doesn't have the right signature or depth of beauty as other Al Smith paintings.
I don't know a painter called AL Smith, what does the AL stand for?
I know the French painter Alfred Smith, but this is not by him.

I think so. If you take the dots out it says: it doesn't to my eye have the right signature or depth of beauty as other Al Smith paintings imo.

Pleasure, or not really, I would have loved for you to have the right painting, but alas.:(

It looks like a factory painting to me too, but let's wait for the others.

You can’t be too upset about the painting, when you got those beautiful Sterling “works of art”
    They have depth!

It does have the tree leaves sponge paint effect that is often on factory art paintings. These pictures are done at speed on a sort of painter conveyor belt. I do buy them if they are cheap enough. The paint, frame and canvas are worth something. If the frame is decent you can always paint over the canvas.

I find "good" art to be extremely rare. For every good find there will be thousands of worthless items clogging up thrift stores, estate sales, and consignment shops. One of the auctioneers I frequent starts to complain when ever he gets to the art in the auction, making comments like "why did I accept this consignment".
