Italy Handled Sm Vase Majolica Pretty and Unknown Rose Vase Multicolored Leaves Help ID

The Italy vase is approximately 4" tall signed (?) colored green red pink rose. Is it signed with numbers and letters?

The unknown vase is 9 1/2" tall colored rust blue white light blue leaves. The vase is also damaged and repaired around the lid.

To some these damaged vases are of no interest but I find them interest for some reason.

Agree with sis, Iznik style for the vase. Very elegant.
If you want to sell it, bear in mind that it is not Iznik, that is mostly 16th-17th century, but Iznik style, made in the same region as the antique ceramics.

 

I, too, agree with say-it-slowly on the second piece. The first vase was most likely produced in southern Italy, perhaps the area around Salerno during the 1930’s to 1950’s.

It was not created using the technique of majolica. It is simply glazed pottery. Notice the lip of your vase. It is missing the glaze and color. You won’t ever see this on a piece of majolica because the process requires that the item must be fired at least twice in the kiln. This second, and sometimes third firing eternally bonds the design and glazes to the body. You won’t find chipping or flaking on majolica.
