mid 1800s bayonet

    Got this bayonet for some lawn care was told it was mid 1800s it looks like someone tried cleaning it up. but for $50 worth of lawn care im okay with it. there's some rough in-graving of a name on the sheave i cant make it out? is it still worth something? Thank you!
