Hi rro, I didn't see the New Year thread yet. So glad your free of hot spots :)

I go for a double hernia surgery in a few weeks, nothing major like you but still.:grumpy:
My doctor gave me a list of other tests I need ASAP since I have ignored my health for about 4 years now. Screening is one of them. :chicken:

    Hi,
Had mine a few months ago. The exam was a breeze, the &#@*&^ prep
    was the problem.:woot:

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I found this last weekend at an antique store in northern Indiana. I love this kind of picture. It's got a more modern frame and matting that are not quite what I would have put on it, but it's all in good shape so is staying together.

It was only $7.50! Originally marked $14.99, but they were having a 50% off sale.

And I found out that it's from The Naturalist's Miscellany, a serial publication of this type of engraving, issued between 1789-1813. This one is from 1794.

Sorry for my terrible photography skills! I'm also including a link to the picture that I found online.

I love the jacket! But keep it away from the Wonder Pest or you might not be able to wear it for long. :angelic:

I won't be wearing a cat while wearing that. Louise, Queen of Lemmeout has been known to play horsey when she feels like it.

image.jpg Found this today with a few other things. It's an abstract resin silver sculpture. I absolutely love this piece.

Our find of last week! (Going in our personal collection) Was this CDV of a lovely girl and her bird. On the back it mentions the 1876 Expo! C.D. Mosher & Co. Photographer, Chicago. Bought in an Antique shop in NY State for .50 cents! Can you believe it! :)

    Hi,
I bet the bird is stuffed and a prop. Most animals in these photos would not hold still long enough without being a blur.

Lovely! I've just learned of Mosher recently. Apparently he was big at self promotion. Photography studios that participated in exhibitions often did note that on the back of their photos. It was a well-known studio.

Although your photo is somewhat faded, I think it's really nice. I agree that the bird is probably a prop, but some people collect that sort of thing. And, you can't go wrong spending $.50 on an antique photo!

The jacket reminds me of bedspread type thing I had in college. I bought in Harvard Square. I think it was from the hippie head shop under the Brattle St Theater. Truche? Even if I couldn't wear it, I would have bought it and made a pillow out of it.

    Figtree, I love the print.

image.jpg I did this today. I know it's nothing spectacular but I'm trying.

It's an area where we go crabbing near Savannah.

It is such a gloomy day here. I was hoping to have something to work with that had some color to it. Maybe next weekend there will be some sun and vibrant colors.

I bought this because it reminded me of the driveway in my first home. It was beautiful but, a quarter mile is a very expensive driveway to snow plow in the winter. :p
