We have that white stuff too. This is not my kind of season, not my kind of climate. I strongly object every time I see a weather forecast, even make cross signs to chase away the devil that is making the reporters do this, but do they listen?:(
But at least the world is light now, I hate darkness and dark grey skies.

The thread is probably that twined nylon. It is only an indication of roughly when it was last threaded, not the age of the silver.

I don't like extremes of temperature at all! I like it nice n moderate...Spring all the way!
This white stuff though makes it so hard to dO anything! Even walking is difficult!

That nylon stuff is also horrid...why is that used? It's like fishing wire !
    Thank you x x

Perfect. Always 22 centigrade/72 fahrenheit, sunshine, rain at night is all I ask for. Is that really too much?

They use that nylon stuff because someone told them it would last longer (questionable) or it was the only thing available. Yes, it is exactly like fishing wire.

I don't object to cold; I do object to tree pollen and whatever else blooms out before Spring really starts. Cold is OK, rainy is OK (less light outside = I can see better and my eyes don't freak out) but pollen.... eyyyuch.

Are we talking monofilament (which is used for fishing line) here? Or coated bead wire? Metal beads saw through silk, cotton, etc. But it's also really easy to string on it & finish off the ends.

Oh...that makes utter sense.thank you...honestly that didn't occur to me. It will be much better on these hard beads than silk or similair, of course! I bet then that it had softer string and it did saw through it? xx
I can't really see what sort of nasty wire stuff it is, looks like fishing wire to me but god knows, I am no expert :D x x

It might well be fishing wire; I tend to use tigertail, i.e. twisted coated metal wire, for glass and stone beads. It's not as soft and pretty as cording, but they don't eat it either.
