Clown coin bank/metal cars old toys finds

Discussion in 'Antique Discussion' started by AlienArtifactZ, Mar 19, 2018.

  1. Hey found these cast iron/metal items on the cheap. Globe lines truck looks repainted, the car has no wheels, the firetruck is decent, and i think the clown coin bank is some kind of repro because it says taiwan.

    What say you ?
Edit - IM SORRY about the sideways pics, honestly its angering me. I figured it out for my next pics, apparently taking pics with the phone vertically causes this. STUPID!

The firetruck, (neat! I love old toy vehicles!) looks like a Tootsie Toy from the 60's. Should be stamped on the bottom and the added stamp to look for with Tootsie toys to authenticate their age, I believe, is "Chicago".

Don't recognize the tireless car and it's pretty beat up. Is it metal or rubber? If rubber, maybe Auburn. The other two appear to me as repros but with some age. Maybe 60's or 70's?
    Just my non-expert take.

I see those repro banks all over the place in my area (Ohio). At auctions, antique malls, thrift stores ....... They usually are priced around $5-10. No idea if they sell.

Thanks for adding the bottom of the firetruck. So, it's a MidgeToy and not Tootsie. Those are much more valued than the common Tootsie. Good score!

As stated, the green truck and the bank are repros. The fire truck is great. Good condition, lots of original paint. I'd like to see the bottom of the last car. I had a bunch of old toys and the vehicles sold quite well, even the ones that weren't in spectacular condition.
