1891 Watercolor Signature

    Picked this up and could use another pair of eyes. Is the last name Boller?

    That's quite nice. Is there foxing on the mat? If so, you might want to have it replaced.

    Debora, down the road is a thrift shop...in RI I usually don't pay too much attention to art. I am going to take it apart tomorrow.

    Not sure how to compare a written signature from a printed one. :(

    looks as if there's something written on the sails of the boat in the background.

    Fid, that is just the way the paint is.

    Question...I managed to get the mat off AND I even got the painting of the back (full sheet) without any problems. Should I re-mat or let buyer put it on a mat?

    My suggestion is... Let the buyer. It's a question of personal taste.
