Featured Antique flower vase

    For some reason only part of my pic is showing. The case in the photo is a Japanese porcelain vase although it looks like cloisonné in the photos.

    The reason I asked about the crackle is that it would then eliminate it from being Chinese. With that yellowish clay and finish, your vase is almost certainly Japanese earthenware and yes it could be earlier than I first thought. The outlining or colour separation technique, "cuerda seca" can be seen in Japanese examples from the 20's, similar to the Longwy pieces which also use the same technique.

    Thanks so much for the info. It is greatly appreciated. Frankly I know nothing about this vase. Just started to search for info because it belonged to my grandmother.
