How do I know if this scribbled on book is 1st Edition.
I’m trying to learn, so please be patient if I’m asking dumb questions.
    Thank you for reading.

In general: Start with a Google search using as search terms the name of the book, its title, and the name of its publisher. If you don't find what you need, do a search for your book on the used book site abebooks.com; sellers may have that information in their listings. In specific: I did that for you. It is the first U.S. edition.

Thank you for the information. I didn’t quite understand what I had read on google in determining the edition aspect.

I did go to abebooks.com for you and yours is the first U.S. edition which was published the same year as the British edition. 19 on offer at prices ranging from $5 to $65 which means, as I suspected, that yours has limited resale value (if that was your intention.)

Thank you. I had seen that and was having trouble in determining the difference in the values.
I don’t really look for values to sell, just trying to collect and learn. Thank you for your time.

Huntingtreasure, I was interested in the wording "Author's Edition From Advance Sheets" on the title page of your book.

The link below is to a published book which "explains" that terminology.

If you don't want to use the link you can find it yourself googling "Author's Edition From Advance Sheets."

Thank you for sharing your book with us.;)

Thank you for the link, as I was confused by that. I did see one with the same wording as mine. Then I saw one with that wording and first edition. Learning as I go, with the help from everyone in this forum.
