Any Thoughts on an Asking Price for...

...this vase designed by: Max Laeuger (German, 1864 - 1952).

Sold lot prices are all over the place. From $100+ - $10K+.

I believe it dates circa 1890s.

Size approx: 5-1/2 x 4-1/2 in.

Not that I'm familiar with this artist but is that a hairline on the rim and a scratch or hairline on the side?

I'm sure you've seen this one. Most of his work that I see from auction results is quite different looking than yours.

The linked seller below had the same exact vase (6th row down, 2nd from right). I emailed him/her to ask a the selling price, but no reply.

The example below is the only other I've been able to find so far with a somewhat similar glaze, form and size. It sold for $3.7K

When was that sale for $3.7K? If it was a while ago, it may have a different market value now.

 

I just was looking at Max Laeuger figurines while researching a handmade Madonna I purchased awhile back....
It seems larger, vases with lots of handwork (hand painted design, slipwork) seem to sell in the higher range. Small vessels with simple mirror glazes and very little adornment sell in the 200+ range. Yet, there are a lot of both types don't sell at all. (opinion based on results from Priceminer & Liveauctioneers)
