Any chance with the signature on this? Approx 3 ft tall. Shade is some kind of handmade paper I think, stem is copper piping, base is wood. Almost wondered if it was just a home made piece (as plug seems vintage, prongs on the plug are the same size, perhaps indicating from an older lamp). Signed 1998, cannot make anything out beyond that. Thanks for taking a look!

I think it looks like T Zeller or Zoller too. The thing I have to ask, is that black mold?

Tried all those names (thanks!) but no soap.

Not mold (at least I don't think it is!) Seems to be a hand made paper with a random black pattern (hmmm...starting to sound suspiciously like mold...) Only thing, it doesn't rub off at all. I assumed just the pattern of the paper, but full disclosure, DH asked the same thing!!!

It was $12.50 at the thrift. Was hoping it was some famous artist as it has a little bit of damage (one of the pedal-like stamens missing) plus a dent in one side of the paper.

I have one other place to check -- there is an art coop downtown that has things exactly like this. Possibly was sold there, and some old timer might remember.

I would feel better to see other examples. If they also had the black...

    Thanks!
