Hi, I have this antique doll buggy from Circa 1920’s. Rubber wheels still roll well, wooden handle. It is been with my grandparents for a long time. Does anyone know if this is an true antique piece that still has value? Thanks.

If it's a family heirloom and your grandparents can attest to it's age and give a family history of it, then you are in with a chance, but these things were heavily reproduced in the 1970s and '80s and the majority out there are fake.

    Hi Applepie!

Known to many doll collectors as the Shirley Temple doll carriage.

I have one myself which holds a few of my dolls.

Yours is not a repro, but unfortunately not worth a heck of a lot either. When dolls were a really really hot item, they were very popular and sold quickly.

About 30 years ago, I paid $600 at Brimfield Flea Market for this one.

About a year or so ago, I put it in McInnes auction (Massachusetts), where it sold for a mere $250....in absolutely beautiful condition.

(The picture was taken on it's last ride in my Transit to the auction).

The carriage I sold was much older than yours.

The one I still have is by Heywood Wakefield. I wonder if I could get $25 for it today. It's natural wicker like the one I pictured, and the condition is very good.

I think I got it at the bargain price (then) of $75, 30 years ago. Just the name Heywood Wakefield commanded a higher price than most other pieces of wicker.

    Thank you AJ!

She is a German googly, and I would say her mode of dress is to represent Rattvik.

Thought you might appreciate this... Here's my Mom, in 1929, with her doll buggy & "babies":

    That is adorable!

Dolls are cute, but not as cute as the little girl!
