My father was an avid antique Christmas ornament collector. It's certainly a nice and beautiful collection. We keep the nicer ones in this display case year around. I can't hold onto these forever but plan to enjoy them for now. Thought everyone here may enjoy having a look. If you want pictures of specific items, let me know.

And, of course, please share any comments you have.

Hi Landon! What a wonderful collection.

I had that tall Santa in your first picture. I held onto it for a number of years, and then decided to sell it. I forget exactly what it brought, but I think around $250. I'm assuming yours is electric also. I can't remember just how long ago now, but at least 5 years ago on eBay.

The cabinet the collection is in is perfect. A very nice display.

I collected Santas at one time, but my collection never became as vast.

Enjoy, and thanks for sharing them.

Thanks for that. He really did. He also collected and sold mid-century furniture. He made my mom's dream of having a lake house a reality with the find of his life.

He found this chandelier at an estate sale. Bought for $100 and sold it at some big auction in Chicago for $82,000. 20180310_103937_resized.jpg

Fantastic collection! I have a few oldies myself - with that thin, squiggly wire draped over the glass part as in your 6th picture. Do you know how old those are?

If you have a good library that will get this book for you, I recommend it. Prices are little out of whack, but at least it will give you an idea which have value and which are run of the mill. If you like the book you can buy it later.

I remember him getting those when I was about 15 (32 now). I recall him researching and determining they were made during WW1 or WW2 (or some other war). something about a shortage some material resulted in makers using aluminum on the ornaments. I could have that all wrong .They are in the research books .just need to look .
