Thanks Johnny - I almost didn't - it just looked so odd to have those beads sloppily glued all over it that I picked it up. I'm gonna post it with more pics in the pottery thread momentarily.

There's a similarity with the Minoan bees pendant.

I just love my local Saver$, been a gold mine. The ones in Denver were so pitiful I rarely went, here they put out good stuff and there’s little to no other pickers.

You are lucky, pickings are slim here of late - seems more people are hunting for treasures. Or maybe people there just don't have the eye for good stuff like you do:)

I don't have a picture yet, but I scored today. Went into a charity thrift and found an odd-looking piece of wood. It seemed stenciled and grain-painted, which it is. And faded. Turned it over and found an old original paper label. James L Chappell patented inkstand, Buffalo NY. If you google that you'll find auction records. Mine has faded gold paint stencils and holes to hold three narrow pens along with a corked hole for the ink.. I paid $8.

Thanks. It looked a little worn, but doing a little digging I think it's pre-1860. It's allowed.
