I love it, a nice, rustic little thing.
I suspect the mark is an older Italian mark, late 19th-early 20th century.

I'd think South American - with the .800 fineness and 'sun' maker's mark, believe early to mid 20th century Argentinian would be most likely...

I've seen that ING abbreviation on Argentine marks before, can't recall whose.

Could it be Industria or similar?

ING would be ingeniero - engineer/made or something similar.

Would suspect 'ING' was the maker's initials...

Of course! Why didn't I think of that?:banghead: The style of the repoussé is much more Argentina or Chile.

Perhaps the '800' factored in? More likely to find '900' or '925' on South American silver, but .800 silver is particularly common in Argentinian silver, and the 'sun' marks show up quite a bit too, likely derived from the coat of arms...

It did. I was only thinking that it wasn't a German 800, so my automatic pilot went to Italy. The Italians have used this numeral font for their 800 before, so I went with the pilot. No independent thought involved whatsoever.:hilarious:
