Cutlery

    The green handle one looks to be a butter knife or cheese knife. It is 14cm long.

    14cm = 5-1/2"

    Yes 5-1/2 inches. The handle appears to be Jade, but I'm not sure.

    Green one is butter, semi precious stone handle, probably had a nice dish with it. That's probably got a little value, as it's pretty. Blade may even be silver.

    The others, not much, sadly. Early plastic handles made to look like mother of pearl.

    Thank you. I wonder if the handles are some sort of bone due to how they have worn.

    It's a Bronz age artifact with nephrite or jadeite handle

    Ummm - no, it is not a Bronze Age artifact.


    Have seen quite a few similar nephrite handled pieces from New Zealand, would think around late 19th century for this one, and as suggested, a butter knife, also agree it could be silver.

    The handles on the knives and carving set look like sick mother of pearl celluloid/pearloid (probably sealed in plastic for many years) - sorry, nothing to be done for them...
