So, I found this jug which I think looks really beautiful. To me, it looks really old, but I am not an expert on it. What do you think?

Yes, that's where I got it from haha. It says the seller isn't sure of where it's from, just that he's sure it's really old.

What does the base look like? I smell a souvenir item.

I don't believe it's old, just made to emulate old, but please wait for someone better qualified to tell.

Welcome. Love her little furry Highness.:cat:
It doesn't say that in the bit rink posted, but it does say in the rest of the listing that he is unsure if it is 1000 years or older, or whether it is from Europe or Asia.
They are asking for more information.

The photos you posted are exactly the same as in the listing. Did you buy it? Or are you thinking of buying it?
If you currently have it, could you check if the encrustation can be scratched off with a fingernail?

I am thinking of buying it, but I'm not sure if I am buying what I initially thought I was buying, which was a bargain on a vintage piece lol. Something tells me this is not as valuable as I am making it out to be in my head, as I am not really an expert on it. But if I look closely, I do think I can scratch the encrustation off with my finger nails. It looks really porous.

In that case don't buy, certainly not with the current bid already being fairly high. It is a really lovely jug though, very attractive.

Not an area where I have any expertise but any avid Antiques Roadshow viewer will tell you there are a ton of reproductions/fakes out there in the antiquities trade.
