Help Identifying and Valuing Old Childs Chair

I'd like ideas/opinions/advice on identifying and a value range for an old (close to antique or?) child's chair I'd like to sell in my dealer space at the antique store.

* What I know or have been told about it:
1.) It was my wife's mother's who was born mid 20's and had it since a child.
2.) It was (re?)painted in the 50's to 60's
3.) There is a small crack in the wood and paint top edge (see last pic)

** What I think I know about it:
1.) It's a spindle back, or bow back, or hoop back child's chair?
2.) Based on very confusing internet examples I see a value of between $30 - $600???

*** What I'd like to know about it:
1.) What age it is based on design and style?
2.) What style/name it's actually designated as (ID)?
3.) General value range (pros, cons based on pics)?

six hundred dollars......for a chair like this........
if u could get 60 ...grab it and run !

These are my thoughts. (I have one like it).

I think they date to the 1920's, Windsor style.

My reason for having this particular chair was the size....just right in size to hold a doll, & with some age. The one I have would probably hold a toddler 2/3 years of age. Yours could be larger for an older child......doesn't really matter in my opinion.

Not worth much in dollars.....tops $25 in my neck of the woods, and it wouldn't go flying out the door, and probably then only after accepting an offer.

I purchased the chair when I was collecting dolls........probably back 20 years or more. Probably at a yard sale, and probably for a mere $2.00. Mine is NOT in good condition......the rungs are always falling out...fine for a doll but not a child. Mass produced and not expensive furniture to start.

Reading the condition of your chair again, my $25 is generous, but if you are wanting to sell it, I would advertize it as being perfect for an antique doll..............

Wait for other opinions though.

 

Yes, a not uncommon 1920s child's chair. Lots of these around; value typically sentimental. Appears to be in good condition. Paint 1950s sea green. Interest would lie (as above) with doll collectors. But resale value not great.

Judy correctly pointed out the antecedent of this chair, which was the Windsor. The general form has been disseminated around the western world until it has become a kind of vernacular. This type of chair was made for many decades.

This would be a giveaway in my corner of the U.S. Midwest. Judy is again right in saying that you may appeal to a potential buyer by calling it an antique doll chair.

 

I agree with Judy's analysis. I pick up chairs like this for a few dollars and sell them for less than $20.00.

Yeah I know it wasn't $600, lol, but I was trying to convey how confusing it was to find a value online looking at other sellers examples (all across the board) and trying to relate/compare to what I have.

The antique mall I've recently become a dealer at has pretty much a running 20% off sale (when not advertised just ask kinda thing) so I'll just put $25 on it and give it a go.
