    I have no idea what this is? Appears to be copper and old. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    My first thought was "Quarante et Huit" Society - WWI veteran's group. They hauled troops around in French boxcars, 40 men or 8 horses to a car. The only question was is this a municipal medal given out to veterans from a particular locality, or made for the veterans' group.

    I'd have bagged it for the boxcar myself. Rail nut's daughter disease. :rolleyes::rolleyes:

    This is why I love this site. I’ve never seen anything like this, or heard of that group. What a cool medal, and kudos to I need help for figuring it out!
