Featured Paris Painting Age and signature help please.....

It appears to be one of the thousands of factory paintings depicting Parisian street scenes.

There are a number of these "signed Burnett" Parisian scenes on Ebay attributed to a "Caroline Burnett".

Occasional they do sell, I think I had a small one (signed Burnett) sell for around $60 on Ebay 4 years ago or so.

 

I just sold one last week at local Auction for less than £40, mine was an oldish one from around the 60s/70s looking at the back of the canvas and the frame. I agree about the mystery of the artist and some seem to have sold fairly well. Burnett supposedly only signed in caps and in red or brown, but there are some signed in lower case and these are a different Burnett artist leading to ambiguity. As it was mine only cost me a £1 so happy to move it on. Problem is with the factory paintings is that they affect confidence in the market and people avoid.

I don't think it's hers. Her signature would certainly not have been plastered in garish red paint on top. I think it's a knock-off of her work.
