Bracelet marked Gucci - Is it real?

gucci-1_2000px_1000px.jpg gucci-4_2000px_1000px.jpg I bought this bracelet some time ago in a second-hand shop, but now want to sell it. I don't want to mislead anyone, so I am asking if it can be determined if it is fake or not. I did see one of the same design advertised some years ago on the web and from what I recall it was being advertised as the "real thing". Unfortunately I can no longer find that reference or photos of a similar bracelet on the web, though there are many with the same toggle style clasp. First of all, does anyone recognize the style/design? Each link has "Gucci" and "925" clearly stamped on it. It shines up nicely with silver polish, though I think it is fairly old as the silver surface looks slightly worn (minute scratches). What raises a flag for me is that it does not have the "R" in a circle mark, nor does it say "made in Italy" anywhere as far as can see. I don't know if all older Gucci bracelets were marked this way or not. Gucci or not, I am going to assume as it is clearly marked "925" that I can advertise it as silver. I don't want to under value it, nor over value it and I sure don't want to advertise it as Gucci if it is not. Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.

It's odd that the large O rings are open and not soldered closed.

I would be highly skeptical that your bracelet is genuine GUCCI. If you intention is to now sell it, you will need to have it authenticated. Here are resources for doing so from the eBay Fashion Board. Cost to do so would be minimal.

The unsoldered links bother me too.

Thanks everyone for your quick replies. I have an email in to Castira to see if they do bracelets as well as hand bags (thanks for the tip). The unsoldered links caught my eye too, but I know nothing about Gucci, so I thought I would check here first. If they can't find anyone to evaluate at a reasonable sum, perhaps I will keep as a reminder to look more carefully next time :) And once I figured I learned that lesson perhaps "Mr. Scrap" will get a visit :( If I find out otherwise, I will let you know, but from your comments I am not holding my breath on this one.

On another topic - DI brooch.jpg DI brooch2.jpg I have a silver and (I believe) marcasite brooch that is marked 935DI. Being "935" I am thinking it is probably European, but I have not managed to trace the maker's mark of "DI". Is anyone familiar with the mark? Thanks!

I’ve got a Gucci ring and I’ve never seen a piece of jewellery with so many stamps and hallmarks!. I’d be surprised if the bracelets didn’t have multiple marks on them too.
    Does it test as silver?

I highly doubt authenticity as well. Personally I would not use Castira on that piece as they’re really handbags although they may do it. Authenticate4u will definitely take it for $7.50 if Castira won’t. Just make sure you contact them from their Facebook page only, not their website. That piece is not Gucci quality in my opinion.

I agree. Elegant too. Given the style, I think German. Can't find the maker though.
