Featured (After) Peter Behrens Lamp

Hi there,

I hope there's are somebody that know anything about design lamps.

I have bought an opaline glass lamp, with metal gallery.
I thought it was a Luzette lamp, made by Peter Behrens.
He made these Luzette lamps for AEG and Siemens.

But on arrival I noticed that the metal gallery and mount are slightly different.

I have been searching on google but couldn't find more info.
I came across 1 lamp that was exactly the same, but without chain.
Unfortunately there was no information, and the link wasn't working.

I came across these names already:
1) Peter Behrens, for AEG or Siemens.
2) Potsdam Luzette, by Bolich.
3) Pforzheim Luzette, by Bolich.
4) Luzette, by Wismann.

Approximately 46 cm high, without chain.
And a diameter of 29cm.

Now the lamps are not marked, or at least not anymore.
I think it's a later version, definitely inspired by Peter Behrens,
but I have no idea by who, or where it was made.
I'm sure it's European.

I hope somebody can tell me

lovely.
they differ in size and details because they were originally made for big fabrication halls. lateron, people started to buy them for their private houses, especially in the Bauhaus era. it is known that every of the four or five major makers changed certain aspects.
will be hard to find a precise history to help you. I hope you understand a bit German - here a site to show a bit of the problem about the multiple models.

I think I'll have to e-mail some of the companies and antique shops selling these kind of lamps. I think, because I'm convinced it's made after Behrens, that it dates back to the 1925-1935.

And 29cm diameter doesn't sounds very big, but it's a quite impressive piece.
I just think the middle rim doesn't reflect the luxury it should or could have.

 

they are ALL after Behrends. the rim might be a special one for a house in more conventional classical style. good luck !
