Thank you, I googled what you said and it lead me to perhaps your suggestion, Pastry Tongs, Sugar tongs, or something like that. I am pretty stoked about the find. I live on the beach so this estate sale hunting gives me a good excuse to get up early out and about. Gives me something to do when the weather is to bad to fish

 

they could have been used as a fruit server too..!

 

They certainly have grapes and vines on them. So either they used the handles designed for grape shears for other things as well, or they were used to serve fruit, as komo said.

 

They are German pastry tongs (gebäckzange), the grapevine design is simply decorative, it's a common motif for silverware, regardless of purpose. With the English language marks, most likely intended for the American market...
