Yes! Been watching silver daily! Bought a bunch earlier this year when it was around $14 and premiums were low. Happy I did now!

There is more than one way to skin a pig! Over the years I have bought stocks in companies that buy silver and gold for guaranteed prices from mines - these are usually multi-year contacts.
When the stocks go higher, usually in concert with the metals prices, I decide when to sell. Yesterday I sold 1/3 of the stocks and recovered all my initial investments.
I have also done this with other metals and oil (WTI).

Happy that I sold a lot when the price was hovering around $27....who knows where the price is going next, but as of today the price of silver has returned down to ~$22 per ounce

...unless you find a nice quantity of gold going begging of course. Then buy gold.

Nice to see a robust precious metals market that is moving in the right direction.

Saw a bunch of 19th century flatware and misc. coin silver sell for under the "melt" value of the silver at an auction yesterday. I wonder how much of that stuff is headed to the smelter to be made into to new shiny bars and such.

Prices on my silver stocks took a HUGE jump. May have to sell off a few more shares tomorrow.
Aside from the election here tomorrow, metals and metal stocks are a huge hedge against inflation. With all the money the country has been printing, it has to happen sooner or later. That should all lead to higher interest rates down the road.

Last time I sold a pile of silver it was about £24 an ounce. I did well at the time.

Expect silver to become extremely volatile in the coming days as a group of Redditors on a sub called r/Wallstreetbets who are attempting to crush those who are "manipulating" the market for silver, start buying up paper silver contracts. Silver is already moving solidly up currently and a spike to $40 or 50 an ounce may not be out of the question. Not sure how much impact this group will have or if they will be able to force the price up with any staying power against retail/institutional investors who control the silver market. I am not an expert in any of this so speculate at your own peril -- but I do think we are going to see some wild swings in coming days, possibly months.
