    IMG_1235.JPG IMG_1236.JPG Good afternoon,
I got these a few months ago. I know for the most part the Weighted reinforced Candlesticks are generally common and inexpensive. I had seen a sold pair that was substantialy more. I was wondering if this is a rare pattern. They are number 830.
    Thanks for reading

The pattern is Awakening, without an s. Issued about 1958 and finally discontinued about 1996, so I wouldn't say the pattern is "rare." But it is nice, certainly nicer than the usual plain base.

Thanks for the correction and the info!
It was a nice thrift store find.
After I paid I ran out looking over my shoulder like a bank robber.
(I'm sure we've all done that)

    Hi,
Some times it helps to run out out like a robber. I got my 18" Fostoria Punch bowl for 3 dollars as I was "running" I heard her partner yelling STOP. As I walked back wondering how much the guy was going to ask for the punch bowl. The partner said "You forgot the cups." I loaded up with 14 matching punch cups. Boy was I SURPRISED!!!!

It's all part of our addiction !
But I must admit I love it. I'm relatively new to the thrift stores, but I'm always amazed, and proud when I get a great find!

    Nice find.
    Running from the store.. LOL
Reminds me of the Ikea commercial where the lady is hollering to her husband to start the car.

    Hi,
My MIL was shopping at a large well known supermarket when she espied a really good sale. There was a 15 lb ham marked $1.35 total instead of $1.09 a pound. She took it to the cashier who only charged her the $1.35. A wonderful ham for 9¢ a pound.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Went to an estate sale last summer and was after some Culver glasses and pitcher I saw in the photos. Luckily, I got inside fast (not a big crowd there that day)

I asked how much they were.
$15 for 8 Culver Valencia Glasses and the pitcher.
I thought I heard wrong, but apparently not.
Wrapped up those puppies as fast as I could and walked briskly to my car before they changed their minds.
    :)

My favorite shampoo....usually at $7.49 or more for the 300ml size.
I'm always looking for it on sale , cuz that size is way too expensive.

One day I'm in my regular shopping store, and notice the reg price was $3.79....so I though it must be a mistake ....until I scanned it .....and yup someone screwed up.....so I took the 6 that were on the shelf, figuring they'd catch the error at the next restocking.
2 weeks later , I'm back there only to find the shelf full and the price hadn't changed........I grabbed 6 more !!
A week later .....same store....& sure enough the same price .....I cleaned out the stock that was there !!

2 weeks go by and I'm back for groceries .....but 1st make a bee line to the shampoo isle......the shelf is once again full.....the price...$ 7.99 !!!!

At least I stocked up while the going was good !!

& ya...my hair is soft and clean...& will stay that way for months to come !!!

I've occasionally been paid to haul health and beauty aids out of the store. A local chain lets me use both the clip to card coupons and the paper ones on the same item. Add in sale prices and... can you say free razors, shampoo, etc? Those immediately become my favorite brands, and if I can't use the item it gets donated locally. Gotta love it when that happens.

    Hi,
My old neighbor God bless her soul was the queen of coupons. We were in the supermarket and she had an oversized basket filled to the brim with stuff. At the end the cashier says "I have to call the manager, sometime is wrong your total is 7 cents." My friend "you have to call the manager the price should be 4 cents" The manger came over and looked at the 20 bags of stuff and whistled "7 cents are you crazy. My friend said it is supposed to be "4 cents." He redid the order and yelled at the cashier "it is 4 cents".

You go, girl!!! My total came down $20 today, and that was just the paper coupons. There was a guy in back of me with two items, whom I warned about the coupon load, but I think he stayed because he wanted to watch.
