Someone found this behind a bunch of baseball/softball gear in a closet at my estate/garage sale Sat. I don't remember where or when I got it, but I was excited when I looked it up because the old black leather Everlast medicine balls are going for a LOT of money - But then I saw a Made in China stamp on one side of it!
What's up with this? Is it a commemorative copy? It looks & feels like it has the age, but I know old Everlast was made in America.
I only found 1 other mention the stamp, and they were asking theirs for $55 (instead of $800 - $900!) for theirs; so I know I don't have an old one, but I can't find any other mention of the stamp & I'm curious what this is about & age - because I don't think people use medicine balls anymore for exercise (except maybe for boxing to toughen the stomach?) so why & when was this made?
    Thanks for any help!

This should help, Journey. From the internet:

"Everlast boxing equipment is made in a factory in Moberly, Missouri; other products are manufactured outside the US by licensees."

In other words, Everlast's non-boxing items are now manufactured in China by a third party. Price disparity due to age which is an indication of quality. Old + US =. New + China = :(
