That's a seriously nice chunk of furniture. Around here you'd get the Florida price if you could move it at all, brown wood being what it is, but something made the same way now would be in the high thousands.

 

Nooooooooo!!! (My co-workers are probably staring at me now wondering why I'm muttering under my breath at the computer).

 

And thus....treasures to the 4 winds !!! Sigh...

I got it right off, it would be a good name for an online shop! I still say Ruth has my box stashed up there in NE somewhere & refuses to give it back to it's rightful owner!
My grandmother had one of these 1st quarter 20th century Curio cabinets, there was a HUGE family fight (among the girls) over who would inherit it when she passed. It was loaded with do-dads too as i remember.

I remember driving past a pile of trash and a gorgeous curved curio cabinet was sitting there. It was missing one curved side. This was in 1978. It cost me 125 dollars to replace the curved glass. I sold it in 1999 for 450 dollars. it is a shame when I think I could get things done right around the corner. I almost hate moving down here where NOTHING is available.

I have taken a thankless job as a moderator in a very large antique group on Facebook and spend all my time babysitting a quarter of a million members there these days and have little time for anything else on the computer. If you are on Facebook I will gladly add you in. It is kind of wild there sometimes but I could use all the people with actual knowledge I can get!
